~

Atticus got a new set of wheels from Grandma and he was loving them.... Piper got a convertible for her 3rd birthday and has always been very cautious with it. She actually prefers NOT to drive, deferring the task to Atticus before he could even reach the peddle. Piper would rather sit in the passenger seat and play with the radio choosing her favorite princess song. Atticus, on the other hand, wants the "full speed" option and has no fear! Chris said he was doing figure eights running at top speed. Pretty gutsy for a guy who just last week was afraid of ladybugs! This week, Atticus is very interested in bugs. He says " Ants are cool, they are very important and we need them...". Because we have been talking about bugs so much both of the Campbell kids have taken a liking to them at the opposite extreme. We get ants at this time every year, and this year is no exception. Usually we opt to stomp on the ants (I feel bad saying this!), however, this year both Atticus and Piper said " Look, COOL! we have ants!!" Since I told them that they are looking for food for their families, Piper now wants to help them out. At first glance of ants she went and got a ziploc baggie to "house" the ants and make them a bed. Atticus was willing to give up some of his snack to ants (not that they do not do that willingly everyday but taking food away from the table)...I am hoping to soon find a happy medium with our ant and bug love. I took Atticus and Mazie to the St. Paul library today (they have normal hours and are open more often than when the wind blows 20mph east). It was very nice and we found a super score of Bob the Builder books. After, we picked up Piper at school and had lunch with the Petits! After that we spent 2 hours at the park with friends from preschool and Renee and Amara! Then Atticus declared " I am soooo tired" and fell asleep at the dinner table at 5:45. Piper was out at 6:45pm! Mazie and me had a couple of good alone hours!!!
