t t t ttt tap

Piper loves tap. She has a dynamo teacher, Ellen, who is loads of fun. All week she asks if it is time to go. Her fave move is "mopping the floor". Predictably, I will add I wish the floor was getting mopped with this move. We have been VERY! busy. Between, shuttling the kiddos to school, playdates, soccer and dance we are swamped. Add on daily chores, working and relaxing we are nearly jam packed.

Sleeping Beauty

Piper has been picking out her clothes the night before school. This is how I found her the other night. Notice: sweater, tights, underwear, skirt, shirt and, of course, a purse to accessorize.

SOCCER!!

Piper has started soccer. They have practice on Wednesdays and GAMES! on Saturday. She has been fairly ambivalent about it until recently, she finally seems to be understanding the game a little more and now seems to be enjoying it more.

Field Days

Last Friday we joined Piper at school for Field Days. All the kids participate in a series of cooperative games to celebrate cooperation. Atticus loved being at school with Piper and it was great fun to meet her friends and see her in the classroom. The best part was definitely seeing Atticus sharing a chair with Piper at her table in the classroom. Precious, she is such a good and caring big sister. Outside, the did relays, a human knot, hurdles and other fun games. Piper was completely exhausted by the end of it. Later, I asked Piper who the cute little girl in her class was with the pink skirt and Piper very seriously replied " Thats me, I am the cute girl in my class".
Atticus has been talking " Spanish" lately. However, all he knows is Hola. Piper keeps telling him that " Spanish has more words than that Atticus" and then counts for him in Spanish and says her colors. Chris and I asked Piper to count in English and she said " I dont know how to count in English. Cute. She defines Spanish numbers as Spanish, but does not have the concept of English as the language she speaks. Interesting.

The Bus Stop

Day 1, Attempt 1 with Dad. The bus never came this day. Apparently,
we were a " dead stop" bus lingo for stops that have no takers for 2 weeks.

Day 2, with mom, was a success.

Piper saying goodbye. Ooooh baby baby its a wild world.

Atticus' first day of preschool.

Atticus started today at Lake Nokomis Kindertots. He was slightly hesitant to go but had a great day and quickly asked when he could go back. They read stories, worked on letters, played on the playground, did art and various other fun stuff according to Atticus. Each week has a theme and he is most excited for the Construction week. His teacher, Miss Sarah, is very nice and seems to really enjoy the children, so I think it will be a great year for Atticus. If it appears that Atticus is missing some hair, well that is true, he is as a result of a clipper mishap. After all the fixing my mishap required he is now without much hair. Thank goodness, for his super cute melon and mug.
Piper is loving kindergarten, she has settled in nicely after her 3 sick days. She is very proud of her ability to spell. She particularly loves spelling cat. Today she had her first Spanish class, and her first trip to the library when she checked out Curious George in Spanish, she was disappointed in my poor translation skills and suggested to me that she will probably get the English version next time. Tomorrow she is going to try out the bus, she is ecstatic about this! They changed the route so now she can ride to school in about 1/2 the time of the previous route. I will still do pick up from school.
Piper also started dance this week! She is thrilled to be doing tap and ballet!! Next week her tap shoes will be here and she has been asking everyday when it is time for dance.

Campbell News

Piper asked Chris " Why do people call the firemen" Chris answered " because there is a fire or people need help". Piper then replied " Why dont they call a superhero?". Piper has gotten a whole lot smarter since starting kindergarten 3 days ago. Also a lot more confident. She keeps telling everyone " I can do that, I am a kindergartener". Unfortunately, all the excitement has taken a toll and tomorrow she will have her first sick day. This weekend, Dallas and Rachel came over for a bbq on Friday and the Holms joined us for brunch on Saturday. The kids were excited to see Liam and Lauren who they have not seen for a month (they were on an extended vacation). Atticus keeps on with the skateboarding! He is now pushing himself around more and trying to flip over the board with his feet. He has the shin bruises to prove it. Mazie has finally figured out the steps. She is thrilled over this progress. We have resetup the gates, that we have not missed!

Atticus and Zane. Buddies.

Atticus played the entire 1 hour. He was a natural dribbler, he kept the ball close and had good control. I was super impressed. Sometimes it pays to be little.

Piper looked cute in the shirt, but was pretty ambivalent about soccer. She enjoyed playing goalie but sat down for the scrimmage. When she was in, and participating, she was a rockstar. She is a speedy little one! To her credit, her soccer mates did not seem to be rookies! They are all pretty fun to watch. I cant wait to watch Piper progress.

Pipers Birthday

Pipers afternoon tea party was a success. Not many pictures, we have camera issues. They did crafts, jewlery, drank tea and fomger food. Pipers favorite part, of course, was sharing tea with her friends. She liked getting presents too, I am pretty sure
