This just says " Co-Pay"

After about a year of asking, Atticus got his skateboard. I did not realize that he would like it so much that we would be bringing it everywhere so I got a cheapo at Target. Big mistake, it does not roll well, so we will be looking at garage sales for a better version. When we brought the board home we took off the packaging and Atticus took off out front. Chris and I were putting away groceries and not paying attention to Atticus who had set up this ramp for his skateboarding debut!!!! We were able to catch him before he went for it!!! He has been loving the board and I am loving watching my little skateboarder!!!

Monday afternoon Chris surprised us by spending the afternoon at home. We took advantage of Chris and the beautiful day to go over to Hyland Park Reserve and go out on the paddleboats. We stopped the paddleboat at a little island and the boys and Piper explored the area. Here, Atticus picked up some nasty bug bites that I thought were surely some sort of major infection. No, just No-see-ums (a type of gnat) these bites swell, itch and look pretty awful. After paddleboating we headed over to the always fun Chutes and Ladders for probably the last time this summer. Piper will have her meet and greet tomorrow with Ms. Lucio at Whittier!!!

Fashion Show Galore!!

My mom came for a visit last weekend and took Piper shopping for school clothes. I told Piper that her new clothes would have to be packed up until school started. So, everyday, Piper has asked to do a fashion show and model her new threads. She mixes and matches all her new outfits and walks around with music. Atticus and Piper brought markers down with them to the basement the otherday so the colored markers are her "makeup". Lovely. Not shown in the photos are their arms and legs which are also accessorized with marker! My favorite picture is Atticus striking a pose in Pipers footsteps.

This describes Atticus' mood from Friday until ooohhhhh, Tuesday morning. As crummy as he felt, he still got dressed and put on his toolbelt for a Bob the Builder show. At the end of BTB there is a Fireman Sam episode and for that Atticus keeps on the tool belt but replaces his hat with a fireman hat. So sweet!

We have been on house arrest for the last week as Atticus and Mazie were under the weather for a bit. We spent some time outdoors over the weekend and at the beginning of the week before the rains came.

Fashion Show

We have started our school shopping for Piper, I think she is more excited to wear her new clothes than to go to kindergarten. Every night she is requesting to do a fashion show in which she plays music and models her new threads. Last night, Atticus got in it and we had a dance party/ fashion show for aunt Amy. Mazie was a bit apprehensive.

HIawatha

Piper made her stage debut at the Lake Hiawatha festival. We had a hard time pulling her away from the stage to do anything else. After all the waiting, when she finally got the mic. She roared like a lion. The emcee played some tunes and grooved on stage for awhile. Atticus rode Snickers, the infamous snickers who seems to have changed colors over the years.....

NNO was tonight and we had a great time. I served as event planner for the 2nd year in a row. We had a great turnout, only 1 or 2 houses were unaccounted for and we had visitors from our neighboring block. The kids look forward to this all year, they love closing off the street and playing in the road. We decorated bikes tonight and had a bike parade, ring toss and water balloon fight (huge hit this year). Mazie gnawed on a corn cob and seemed to be in heaven. She is on the move lately. No time for nursing, no time for being held, she just wants to cruise around.
