T-Ball

 

Atticus is back in T-ball this year joined by his buddies Zane and Hayden. He is pretty engaged about 75% of the time! In the above photo, he and Hayden are taking a breather. Here they are talking about the homeruns they are gonna hit when they actually play!

Nurses Strike

 

Last Wednesday, 9,000 twin cities nurses and I voted to reject the contract proprosal offered by our metro hospitals. This vote, if not negotiated will lead to the largest nurse strike (12,800) in U.S history. Here I am with Maggie, Amy and the kids visiting after putting our "NO" votes in the box! We are all hoping that we will be able to reach an agreement and avoid striking. On the bright side, it has given me the opportunity to teach the kids about organized action. All of them came with me to our informational pickets and "1,2,3,4 More nurses on the floor" and "1,2,3,4 Safety is what we're fighting for" has been chanted many times at our house!

We spent a lovely weekend in Two Harbors. We rented a cabin on Lake Superior and Levi, Hudson and Ivers came up and joined us. The weather was cool, the lake beautiful. The kids enjoyed hiking and climbing on the rocks. We went to the lighthouse and just "hung out". It was very nice to get away from the city. Mazie was all over the place, and a challenge to keep up with! She is really starting to express herself with words. Daddy, that one, why and water are her favorites. She also is loving antagonizing her brother. Anytime she gets mad at anything she runs and hits Atticus!
